Shelf capacity – This is determined by the manufacturer. It is the maximum amount of evenly distributed weight that a storage cabinet shelf is able to safely store materials.

Gauge of steel – This term refers to the steel thickness of the metal cabinet. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the steel is.

Shelf Openings – This is the number of openings in between each shelf in the cabinets. This also includes the area at the bottom of the cabinet.

Single-Point Lock –  This means the door is secured at the center point only.

Two-Point Lock – The doors are secured at the top and the bottom of the cabinet.

Three-Point Lock – The doors are secured at the top, center, and the bottom.

Piano Hinge – The door hinge runs continuously from the top to the bottom providing more security and strength.

Leaf Hinge – A standard door hinge consisting of two leaves that are joined together by a pin or metal rod.
